Tips for Enjoying Life More

These days people are so busy with work, family, school, chores, you name it. We find ourselves constantly running around from place to place and often times our enjoyment of life can slowly move to the bottom of our priority list. These few tips can help you change that!

Feeling good about yourself and your life is half of the battle. Try to be positive, no matter what your situation is. Remember, things could always be worse. No amount of money can make you happy if you are miserable on the inside. Be thankful for the positive elements of your life.
 
There are hundreds of simple little things you can do to enjoy your life to the fullest!
  • Spend time gardening
  • Pack a picnic and eat in the park with your family and friends
  • Make time for yourself every single week
  • Paint
  • Cook dinner with your spouse or children
  • Grow fresh herbs in your garden
  • Get fresh air as much as possible, take breaks to do this
  • Write a list of things you are thankful for, refer to it often
  • Volunteer at an organization or charity that is close to your heart
  • Get a pet
  • Do yoga outside
  • Laugh as much as possible
  • Music – make your own, listen to some live or at home
  • Play in puddles at the park
  • Eat backwards for a day (ice cream sundaes for breakfast, spaghetti for lunch, grilled cheese for dinner, cereal before bed)
  • Read books
  • Write
  • Nerf gun games
  • Park hunting (drive around until you find a park or playground you have never been to
  • Daily rock concert in the living room
  • Vacation (even a local one is beneficial)
  • Get a massage
  • Take that class you have always wanted to
  • Watch a beautiful sunset
  • Enjoy great food with friends and family
  • Dance
  • Sing
  • Pat yourself on the back and celebrate your achievements and milestones
  • Do something nice for someone else
  • Give someone a hug
  • Tell someone a joke
  • Be spontaneous
  • Spend time with animals
  • Go bird watching
  • Appreciate nature
  • Stop to smell the roses
  • Play games with children
  • Ask a child to tell you a joke (this is usually really funny)
  • Exercise outdoors
  • Meditate
  • Help others in some way
  • Enjoy art – create your own or visit an art gallery
  • Take photos of things in life that make you smile
  • Jump on a trampoline
  • Eat delicious and healthy food
  • Prepare a wonderful meal to treat yourself
  • Be grateful for all of the positive things in your life
Your life is about YOU. Make sure you make time for yourself everyday and don’t let yourself get too burned out to enjoy your life and your family and friends. Always do your best. The happier you are, the happier you can make others.
